What do you think? Will it be helpful for us as instructional designers?

I've been mulling this over for awhile. I think it could be useful, but the most useful part of it is that the papers can be commented on, rated, and related papers can be linked. You could do all of that with a webpage or PDF in the right setting. I don't think it will be the same 'breakthrough' as YouTube since everyones' computer has the capability to view text (where getting a video to play is often much harder). So, it's useful, but because of the interactivity build in rather than the format itself.

I forgot to add - I don't think the streaming format would get rid of any copyright issues either (if posting beyond the 'fair use' guidelines).

I think it could turn into a huge database in which there may be a lot of useless information. It may be hard to sift through all of the papers. Hopefully there will be a nice system in place to identify the quality of the papers. However, its another quick way to get information it just may be tedious to search through.
