It's great to hear this. I wondered if something was brewing since they developed Google Gears for using online apps offline- which Zoho was using for it's offline version for a few months back at least. I'll have to check out how Google Docs offline works!

Same here, I haven't heard of Google Docs so I will have to try it out. If its anything like word I'm sure it will become very popular. It's amazing the creativity and competitiveness that keeps happening with Google. It benefits the user but is there ever a point where it gets out of hand or starts to cost money?

I'm with Laura. Never heard of google docs and while we are on the subject of new software I didn't know that Mozilla had an e-mail interface which I just discovered yesterday.

I'm exactly opposite. I will go with the flow of the majority. Since majority is using Word, I'll stick to Word for global compatibility. I used a free stuff called Open Office once and had the hassles to (1) re-learn all the formatting and positions of the icon/button/function, and (2) to constantly convert from one format to another format when sending to other users.

I don't mind Microsoft monopolizing the market in this aspect, so long as the ease and convenience of use is there.
