What master's degree was this for, what practical use would this have, and who approved it?!?!?!

It was a computer science/psych project. As for practical use, I guess the facial recognition (comp sci) part of may have real world uses as they try to improve face recognition software for things like security purposes. The psychology of it all, I have no idea. I've read studies of how people react to others based on perceived attractiveness and such.

For practical use, the program could be used for dating websites - matching attractiveness levels requested ;). Watch out eHarmony!

What about relativity? Can beauty formulated? These kind of studies remind me artificial intelligence studies, and I am not sure about them, because they cause me to feel like a machine. On the other hand, I believe that these kind of ( not for this one) studies will provide a perspective for us to understand mental perception of human, Maybe? I do not know.
